I didn't believe it when a friend of mine recently told me he saw a Jumbo Video while passing through Belleville, Ontario last month. I had to see for myself so on my way to Fantasia, I pulled off the 401 and sure enough, it was there!
And it's a fully functioning video store, as well.
I talked to the guy behind the counter and there are apparently still at least three Jumbo Video locations still operating in Ontario - the other two being in Kingston and London apparently. And for all those who remember it, they still have free popcorn.
Actually, their popcorn is a separate business and can be purchased online through Jumbopopcorn.ca. It's great to see this old elephant still flying their flag high. Now if only one of them still had that old horror section haunted castle facade I would be in heaven.
