In addition to the usual reviews and comments you would find on a horror movie blog, this is also a document of the wonderfully vast horror movie section of the video store I worked at in my youth.

Slimy goodness

Here’s a trailer for a new low budget flick called Bio Slime that was posted on Twitch yesterday.

Like the Twitch article says, you can see the instant similarities to Evil Dead and Braindead. Braindead (aka Dead Alive) over the years has sort of become the quintessential over-the-top gore flick to which all new “splatstick” offerings are compared. Though none have come close to besting Petey Jackson’s early work, likeminded films like Dead & Breakfast, Evil Aliens and Black Sheep are thoroughly entertaining, nonetheless.

From the trailer, Bio Slime looks ultra-ultra low budget, but still could have it where it counts. I recall a micro-budget film at After Dark last year called Automation Transfusion that was sub par in every way, except the special effects and that was what made it watchable. The gorework in Bio Slime seems pretty ambitious and I’ll totally be keeping an eye out for it in the future.
