Shinsedai!

Tickets for the 4th annual Shinsedai Cinema Festival go on sale today.  Showcasing the best in fringe and independent Japanese cinema, the festival runs July 12th to the 15th.  Check out the sizzle reel below.

That's funny, I was at one of their theatres in Austin last week. It's a cozy set up with brews from their microbrewery, food, and tables with seating in the auditorium. I got the impression from the trailers that they sometimes showed old movies, but they weren't screening the ones you mentioned when I was there.
