In addition to the usual reviews and comments you would find on a horror movie blog, this is also a document of the wonderfully vast horror movie section of the video store I worked at in my youth.

DKTM 187

Good afternoon! While you are all enjoying your weekend - which I hope involved checking out the some robots vs. monsters action - please kick back and watch these vids.

More VHS Love.

I know it seems like I throw up a Kickstarter campaign every week now, but I'd be hard pressed to not mention this one. Plastic Movies Rewound is not only a VHS doc, but an entire six-episode series! Bringing together directors, writers and video store vendors - including Toronto's own Dan Hanna from Eyesore Cinema - they reminisce about every conceivable detail about the home video era. Here is the trailer below.

To get more info and/or contribute to the cause, check out their Kickstarter page here.

How2Kill.

I found this cool little horror short/music video online this week. Here below is the metal band Death Valley High's video for their song How2Kill. Nice little Evil Dead reference at the end there!

Chucky's Back.

Recently, the trailer for the new Child's Play movie, Curse of Chucky appeared online. I'm bummed that it is direct-to-video though. If Seed of Chucky was able to play big screens, I'm sure this one could have. Oh well.

Overall, I'm diggin 'it. I find it somewhat troubling that it is hard to tell what the ratio of practical to digital Chucky effects are from this trailer and find it weird that his face seems to change throughout. I mean there's one shot in there, where he looks almost Asian. What up with that? Curse of Chucky hits Blu-ray October 8th.
