In addition to the usual reviews and comments you would find on a horror movie blog, this is also a document of the wonderfully vast horror movie section of the video store I worked at in my youth.

The Last Moguls.

While we continue to wait for director Mark Hartley's new documentary Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films, I thought I'd throw up some links to an old like-minded special from the BBC. Here, below is The Last Moguls, which follows the eighties era exploits of indie company Cannon Films. For those not in the know, Cannon was two Israeli cousins named Menahem Golan & Yoram Globus. When you think “eighties movie”, you are basically referring to either John Hughes or these two guys. This hour-long doc, featuring interviews with media greats like Chuck NorrisJohn Frankenheimer, Aaron Spelling and Norman Mailer, is not only a wonderful trip down memory lane, but also has great insight into the business of buying and selling films. Enjoy!

Thanks to IndieWire for the hookup.
